About Us

In the summer of 2000, nine organizations formed an alliance and established Family Opportunities for Living Collaboration (FOLC) in response to a Cedar-Riverside Neigborhood survey of refugee and immigrant families. Those organizations are as follows:

Alliance of Early Childhood Professionals
Augsburg College
Pillsbury United Communities Brian Coyle Community Center
Confederation of Somali Community of MN
Cedar Riverside Children’s Home Society
University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview
Riverside Plaza Tenants Association
St. Joan of Arc Congregation
Trinity Lutheran Congregation

FOLC has become a neighborhood catalyst that engages Cedar-Riverside families, individuals, and organizations to collectively identify and address Cedar-Riverside issues so that it can become a neighborhood where all can thrive. The Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis is the site for current FOLC programming. FOLC organizes and supports programs that improve the quality of life in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood.
